Your Reinvention Matters

Are you a man of that certain age and feeling frustrated when you stand at your closet lamenting on what to wear? Do you feel your wardrobe is outdated, doesn’t fit or do you just want something new but don’t know where to begin? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, then Ivan Surcy, Image Authority and Founder of H2T Consulting believes it is time for a reinvention.

With so many options available, it’s difficult to determine the proper attire. And with all the images bombarding us from television and magazines, it’s enough to make you want to throw in the towel. But Surcy advises that you don’t through in the towel just yet. He explains that part of dressing well is knowing what suits you – the pieces and combinations that, time and again, will make you look good and compliment your body shape.

As an image consultant and personal stylist, Surcy guides his clients a journey a sustainable wardrobe journey appropriate from day to night and everywhere in between. A word of caution though…do not be deceived into believing you can wear what a 20-year-old would wear. Know your body and your limitations.

Actor David Harewood is a classic example of dressing appropriately for his age.  Gentleman, please do not confuse “fit” with “tight”.

Jackets – should fit snuggly with very little give at the waist where buttoned

Slacks – shouldn’t flap around in the wind like a flag on a pole. The legs should be tapered close to the leg and the length should hit just above the top of the shoe.

Helpful hint: Always choose classic over trendy. Classic silhouettes will never go out of style…trendy will fade die. Additionally, you do not have to break the bank to be well dressed.
